First Kiss

First Kiss

A Poem by Dave

First Kiss
So this was your first kiss, how was I to know?
I should have guessed by how you trembled
when you melted into my arms and sighed.
knowing I wanted it to be the first of many.
A first kiss and so much more to hold you close
to hope and know you want me as I want you.
I didn't know, not then how innocent you were
just wakening to the desires of your heart.
I only knew when you said no, the second time
you were fearful you would faint, being overwhelmed
I cherished our first kiss knowing there would be more
So glad you had me wait for your full awakening

So sweet and endearing... and still often is still the way even in the midst of free love. There is something sacred about a first kiss bestowed. truly, Pat

We shall never forget the first kiss.
"I cherished our first kiss knowing there would be more
So glad you had me wait for your full awakening"
I liked your thoughts and I did enjoy the above lines. Thank you Dave for sharing the amazing poetry.

Your words bring back memories of magnificent splendor. For me, the first four or five girls I kissed was an experience that knocked my socks off. After that, the kisses were merely incredible. If I can find a way-back machine, I shall take us both back to the age of 16.

Shared innocence... do they really HAVE that level of innocence today - at least near the same age as your memory here?

Ah, the innocence of first love; the fearfulness, the clumsiness, the excitement and the respect. Perhaps nothing else in life conjures such sweet and tender memories. I greatly enjoyed the read.

If the girl's worth waiting for. she's worth waiting for.

Never as good as the first time in most cases. A sweet and lovely tale
