Summer BreezeA Poem by DaveSummer Breeze The soft summer breeze is gone, along with the warmth of you. Sparkling blue skies, marshmallow like clouds drifting. They too are gone, turning grey and threatening, noisy calm quiet waves lapping easily at the shore, gone. Facing the oncoming weather, I think of you and our summer running on the sand, diving like porpoises frolicking in the sea. We built our sandcastle, towers, moat and imagined it our own. The rushing incoming tide washed it away along with our dreams. Star studded nights had me caressing you and you me, so warm. The summer breeze is gone along with the starry nights we loved. Gone and a chill fills the air, I remember the warm summer breeze a not so distant memory, but like you it went away, so far, far away.
