My Bedroom Walls Take A Vacation

My Bedroom Walls Take A Vacation

A Poem by Mark Mendoza

The hours of the day press on,
As a panting camel,
Who carries treasured jewels to awaiting kings, on a romantic moonlight night.

The walls of my bedroom are beginning to drip a slow motion- a vacation overdue.

Whether my eyes see or not,
The walls will unburden to the floor below,
Creating an iridescent puddle.

Goodnight.

yes, even camels need a break once in a while...they might die of thirsting for a vacation.
i really like the "unburden" part...and the "iridescent puddle"
line three "whom" should be "who"
but so much expressed here, so much in few words...
i like the personification of the walls....and the floor, holding each other up...as humans tend to do as well.
