Drawing

Drawing

A Poem by Mark Gil

I drew a picture of you

I drew a picture of me too

I placed both of them together

A drawing of us smiling forever

T'was a world where I can escape

With nothing at stake

I can be as selfish as I want there

But I couldn't live in that facade forever

I lived in an illusion made of coal

A fool's rendition of his goal

To be with you eternally

But that illusion didn't satisfy me

I lost the battle on this stage

Because you took all my courage

Now it's impossible to make this a reality

Now it will only remain in the canvas as a fantasy

Wow, this is great! I absolutely loved reading it! It could flow a little better, but the whole idea and the words you used create a beautiful picture. Awesome job! I look forward to reading more of your work.

This is so moving, Kabayan. I can feel that making an illusion had brought the voice in a miserable situation. But believe that everything has an end. It won't always be a rainy day everyday...

Nice poem, though full of sadness. Nice rhyming scheme. :)
