A Chapter by Mark Alexander Boehm

Kamikaze brain waging war on a kind soul

Battles fought on astral soil

Leaves the body in turmoil

As the engine runs out of oil

Gasps spill from a mouth

Desperately trying to scream

After so many nightmares

One forgets how to dream

People promise to be there

Like you're part of a team

A warped isolationist mind

Rips that thought apart at the seam

Don't let them in

Don't let these thoughts out

Angels can whisper

But demons will shout

Louder and louder

Till you become mortal powder

Scattered and forgotten

Sounds better than

Tossed into the ground

In a coffin to rot in

Put out that match

Drop that shovel

Don't bury yourself too

I'll live, I'll stand by you
