Remember You Are DustA Poem by Mark Alexander BoehmFor those that masquerade as holy when they're far from it...
You've got something on your mind
I can see it when I look at you Got something on your forehead, Is that cuz Jesus called for you? Are you hiding behind your prayers So that I won't see the truth? You won't fool me, I know the devil prays too. On judgement day I'll tell Him how you Drove me mad. I didn't mean for you to catch, Only wanted your house gone. And as I scatter what's left of you, I'll wonder if I ever even mattered to you. Remember you are dust, And dust you shall return. Burn baby, burn. Dipped my thumb in soot That's as black as my soul. It's as dark as my thoughts And as cold as my heart. As I smear it across your face I'm reminded of what a disgrace you are. A disgrace to your name, And the entire human race. On judgement day I'll tell Him how you Drove me mad. I didn't mean for you to catch, Only wanted your house gone. And as I scatter what's left of you, I'll wonder if I ever even mattered to you. Remember you are dust, And dust you shall return. Burn baby, burn. Burn, burn, baby burn. Let me warm myself By this human torch. Burn, burn, baby burn. Gonna have fun rolling in your ashes Like a pig in mud. Burn, burn, baby burn. Thanks for lighting up my life After bringing it so much darkness. On judgement day I'll tell Him how you Drove me mad. I didn't mean for you to catch, Only wanted your house gone. And as I scatter what's left of you, I'll wonder if I ever even mattered to you. Remember you are dust, And dust you shall return. Burn baby, burn. © 2017 Mark Alexander Boehm |
