Trojan HorseA Poem by Mark Alexander BoehmHurt people hurt people. You're perfectly sculpted Like a true gift from God. With the parts of an Adonis Even I'd consider a ride on this. How could something That looks like that Be a threat to my heart? That thought proved a fatal error, Now let the onslaught start. Now that my heart's been pillaged And my soul is left in ruins, The world will see my worst. Others have tried to Break down these walls But you just came right through them. I never saw it coming, Just opened right up For a Trojan Horse. I ordered my gate raised Threw away the lock And handed you the key. I see now that I made it All too easy For someone so sleazy To get right to me. Can't trust myself with a gate So I'll build another wall in its place. Now that my heart's been pillaged And my soul is left in ruins, The world will see my worst. Others have tried to Break down these walls But you just came right through them. I never saw it coming, Just opened right up For a Trojan Horse. Part of me wonders If I enjoy the chaos A little too much. I sit back as it all crumbles And another flame burns out. Am I the one that was fooled Or have I been hiding out In a horse of my own Riding from heart to heart Doing some damage that I don't know? The exact number of men I've destroyed Would break your heart like a bone. Others have tried to Break down those walls But I'll just come right through them. You'll never see it coming, Just open right up For a Trojan Horse. Now that your heart's been pillaged And your soul is left in ruins, You've seen me at my worst. Now it's time to show me yours, Open up for my Trojan Horse. © 2016 Mark Alexander Boehm |
