The Wannabes - By Mark Manning

A Poem by Mark Manning
"

Wannabes

Wannabes

Sarah popped a pill

So maybe she could be

be who she would be

Leroy pulled a gun in Sears

It ended in tears....

and  blood

Least he found his

15 minutes of fame in da hood

Maybe  he could be

Be who he would be

Nobody gave them a little ray of sunlight

pat on the back  say  everything was all right

put away that stupid image

 it’s just not you

can’t you see Mr Missy

sunshine

precious sunshine

is already within you

Nobody gave them a little ray of sunlight

so maybe they could be

be who they would be
