Bleak Outlook - By Mark ManningA Poem by Mark ManningBleak .... :)Bleak Outlook They tell me it’s a bleak outlook ,and I believe them as I shutter up the promise. Count wasted years on the fingers of both hands and feet . Birds that sung have long flown to the far off places I’d planned to see, Fear kept me rooted to the spot and it was not to be . The shine in my eyes long deadened copper in my hair now grey , spring in my step now halted . They tell me it’s a bleak outlook but they need not have bothered ,for I know it to be so.
