On these burial groundsA Poem by Mark DOn these
burial grounds Which our
history encompasses We cannot
deny belonging But could
never be ourselves
As the first
inhabitants of pain We fell from
the hoax of love They
presented us with slaves To help
bury the deceased
And so it
was born The staple
of my new culture Too deeply
rooted to ever be seen Too ugly for self-investigation
In longing
for new prestige We ended
the feud And isolated
the period We forever
long to forget © 2012 Mark DFeatured Review
