Chapter 3A Chapter by Marissa Carter
Jessica raised her eyebrow. "Bailey. Are you sure you're okay?" she asked, gently touching Bailey's shoulder. Bailey nodded, "Hey could you grab me my laptop? It's right behind you." Jessica nodded and handed Bailey the sleek, silver Mac. "Thanks." Bailey replied and quickly opened the computer. "What are you doing?" Jessica asked and moved to sit next to Bailey so she could see the screen. "How much do you know about Belladonna?" Bailey asked and Jessica shrugged. "Only that it's an old hospital. Apparently it was pretty cruel living. Why?" Jessica eyed Bailey, trying to figure out what was going through her mind. "Have you heard of a woman named Elizabeth Dennis?" Bailey asked and Jessica shook her head. "Well, she was a patient there back in the fifties, before it closed. Adam said that was his aunt." Bailey said, confusing Jessica. "Okay. So what does that have to do with anything?" she asked. "Adam said, and I already knew this, that she was normal for the first three or four months she was there. But then one day she just snapped. She killed three staff members! For no reason other than someone, or something told her to do it." Bailey explained and Jessica's eyes grew wide. "Have you told Ayden?" she asked, looking around the corner, searching for him. "Well he already knew Elizabeth killed those people, but I haven't told him that she was Adam's aunt. I just found that out tonight."
When Ayden returned to the lounge, he saw the two girls sitting on the floor talking. Jessica had a concerned look on her face, just staring at Bailey. "Hey, you guys alright?" he asked, walking over to sit next to his sister. "Yeah. Hey you remember about that woman that killed those staff members in the hospital?" Bailey rushed the words out, her tone of voice hinting excitement. "Yeah, what about her?" Ayden asked, rubbing his chin. "My boss said that was his aunt. He said the same thing the other patients and staff did. She was just fine one day, then completely freaked out the next." Ayden nodded and simply said, "Okay so?" Bailey started to grow frustrated but shrugged it off. "So, it means we have an actual witness to her behavior. This could really help our research!" she exclaimed and Ayden patted her head playfully. "Okay. Calm down Nancy Drew. Have you thought about what I told you we should do if Adam let you do this project?" he asked. Bailey nodded, she had thought every single day for almost a year about Ayden's idea. He wanted to go to Belladonna, get inside footage of the old, crumbling building. "So. Do you want to do that or not?" Ayden asked, eyes gleaming with excitement. "If it will make the project more interesting, then yeah why not?" Bailey replied, grinning at her older brother's expression. He looked like a kid on Christmas morning when she'd said yes. The truth was, he was more invested in this project than she was. Ayden had always been interested in the paranormal and the occult, and when he found out about Bailey's project, he HAD to help her. "So when are we going to visit the hospital?" Ayden asked, turning to face his sister. Bailey just shrugged and looked to Jessica. "Woah don't look at me. You figure it out Bailey." She held her hands up and Bailey laughed at her. "We can go tomorrow night, Ayden. I have a lot of planning to do tonight." She said and stood up. "With that being said, I'm off to sleep. Love you Ayden." Bailey smiled and walked to her room, throwing herself onto her bed and falling asleep almost instantly. Jessica and Ayden stayed in the lounge talking for a few hours before he decided it was time for him to go to bed himself. He showed Jessica to the door and waved her goodnight. 'Finally.' he thought. The girl was nice and all, but very talkative. More Bailey's scene than his. He walked silently to his sisters room and peeked in to check on her before going to his room. He collapsed on his bed, excitement for the next day making him tired. He would finally get to see the place he had grown up learning about in person.
