Thank You

Thank You

A Poem by Marinabeana

I didn’t think you had the capacity to make me feel better
Everything has been so hard for me lately
I know I don’t have much to offer
And I fully expected you to leave
To not be able to handle me
See that I am broken and used up
At my worst
Panicking and sobbing constantly
All the ugly things
Not even me anymore
But here you are
Holding me while I cry out in agony
Telling me you’re here
And you’re not going anywhere
That you love me
Even when I say the same things
Over and over
Out of fear
Taking care of me
Being so sensitive to my feelings
I may be low
But the happiest I’ve been in a while
Is when I’m here laying on your bare chest
Your scent in my nose
Tracing your arms with my fingers
Ever so often looking up to see my favorite view
You grinning a full-faced smile
Because something on the TV was funny
I am warm inside
