Departure

Departure

A Poem by Marina

I depart
Everyday from the port of existence
To arrive to nothingness
One might question
This illogical trip of mine
As I
Voluntarily
Choose to disappear
Every day
Isn't it what trips are good for?
I put the dis- in appear
I am an expert in that-
A skill formulated after
many arduous reappearings
to nothingness
No passports,
No identification needed there
No one would check to see who you are
As you cross the disappearing side
But
when you return to the port of existence
You wish you would have taken a token with you
Because now
Noone can know you
With your see-through face
and your moist eyes,
You look exactly
Like that window being attacked by rain

I like this....

Relates to the transparency of life; one can exist amongst the millions, and still be alone and invisible to all.
I enjoyed your suggestions of parallel existence. A fascinating concept and one much admired by a certain Mr. S.King.

Nice work.

This is quite sad. Like walking through a crowd of friends, and being ignored. I think we all run away from life from time to time. Maybe just because life has become mundane. I also think there's a plus side too. You can get the crap out your system. Nothing better than screaming at the sea.

Bloody kids. Now you can't hit them with a length of wood anymore. Where did it all go wrong.
