Another Day

Another Day

A Poem by Marina
"

Yeah, just another one yet.

"

My eyes are following the muddy stream of nothingness

That slowly flows into the void of chaos

Right next to the supermarket

Εverything eventually ends up in that corner

Waste, dead cats, hopes, my sleep

Next to the big green garbage can

I can see an old man limping

I guess his frugal existence gained another pound

And now it’s slowly fermenting on his wounded knee

He passed right underneath my balcony

I was clinging to its edge

As if it was something more than just

A dirty, rotten metal edge

As if my existence depended upon it

And I didn’t notice Time

Slowly erasing me from the picture

Making me a speck of dust

Getting pierced by the sunlight

this reminds me of some song about how we're all just dust in the wind; I can relate to this.

True. Glad you like it.
Nicely written. I wonder how many of us actually notice that we are merely dust dissipating in the sunlight?

Thanks Wonka :)
Not as many as we should be, I'm afraid.
Like this. Life just passing by. It's that grandstand view of what is really going on all around you.
I wonder what the old man would think, if he looked up to your balcony. Maybe you're both on the edge.

Marina I'm trying to understand... can I say it out loud? Are you a va..va..Vampire?! Your poetry is very visual! and enigmatic! very well written! It so nice to read poems like this acknowledging the inequality and imperfections of life. Yes it is fleeting next thing we know we are already silhouettes and no one can see us.
