Fell in love

Fell in love

A Poem by Marina
"

A love poem. Not.

"
I fell in love
and boy it hurt
I mean I tried to calculate the altitude of the fall
multiplied by the pain factor
but I forgot to calculate the angle with which I fell
THE F*****G ANGLE
So it hurt more than I thought
But luckily I had left the common sense
right next to love
so I grabbed on from its branch
not a common branch -mind you-
and I pulled myself out of the pit
So now I am just fine!
So a tip to you who might fall in love
don't forget to calculate the angle as well
and if you forget, please remember to put your common sense
somewhere close by
If you forget that too,
well then,
you deserve what will be coming for ya
and I'm telling you
it's not good
it hurts
especially if you land face down.

Those funking angles get you every time. They re the difference between a soft landing and your face being introduced to your shin bone, violently.
Great thinking on your part to keep hold of that common sense. In love, it is usually one of the first to be left behind and forgotten.
Love the feel of this piece, reads like lessons learned.

Send me the tree. But for god sakes, not the one with the Chinese instructions.

A tree?! Bloody hell.
I'll have a whole Sequoia coming your way
"especially if you land face down." with a broken neck and a broken nose! The Love meter triggers in the least expected way. And only fools falls in love truly.

True. So very true Yan; I'm glad I'm not a fool in this area haha
Love the concept of the angle. Nice perspective or should I say angle. ;)

Hey, that's pretty good... I like how you used a little dark humor with a somewhat encouraging message. I stress the word "somewhat".

I got a good chuckle from the author's note section as well... "victims of love are everywhere" "call your local love support center". Ha, I like your sense of humor.

Haha, thank you Dr. ;)
Really appreciate it
Angles are like perspectives and I've come to conclude (for me at least) that angles are to be left to the lovelorn geologists who truly understand the math. I will stick to cleaning canine fecal matter from the yard and keeping my four-legged companion happy. Really enjoyed this piece and happy to hear you were able to snag yourself on a branch.

I love that you mentioned the angle. ("Get your angles straight!") Because usually the fall is at the sharpest angle.

Thank you :)
Yup, I learned my lesson all too well haha!
Is that why they call it falling in love.
I've had a few women fall on top me, and you're right, sometimes the angle is excruciating.
Do you think i can claim compensation from the love support center. Or should i just give up this love thing altogether.
