Miracles

Miracles

A Poem by MarilynT

The sunrise sweeps across the earth,
and night dies after giving birth
from the vast womb of the universe
a miracle to see.

A gentle breeze blows across the land,
as caressing as a mother’s hand
holding a child unable to stand
a miracle to see.

Clouds filled with life-giving rain
pour it on both hill and plain
then leave as quickly as they came
a miracle to see.

A living soul born of death
unbound from diseased and decaying flesh
takes its first sweet and glorious breath
a miracle to see.
