Broken

Broken

A Poem by MarilynT
"

The feelings of a child suffering abuse from personal experience.

"

Black darkness,
deeper than a starless
moonless night.
I watched as it swept
into your eyes
making your soul,
darker,
blacker,
than the night.

Pointed darts,
flew off your tongue
and passed your lips
piercing me until,
my heart
became a sieve.

You turned away
and walked into
the darkness
leaving me
with the laughter
of your cruel
satisfaction.

Haunted by
echoes of you
I sat beneath that black sky
removing the darts
one by one
and wept
as the love
poured out of my heart.

Your words pierced my heart deeply...the sadness and pain laces every word you have unleashed in this piece. A write I will not soon forget! Powerful and intense!
Much respect!!
