Drop From A Web

Drop From A Web

A Poem by Marilyn My Bitterness

Is this the day
         I walk away
                 Walk away
                      From you?

                  Is this the day
               I say no
         No more
 Abuse?

     Is today the day
             I stand up
                    Stand up
                         To you?

              Today is the day
       I decide to live
  Live for myself
Not you

     I have been suspended
               In motion
Like a rain drop in a web
                          Your web
                                  His web
                                      Their web

                             Not my web

                      Today I will fall
            To the wet ground
    And not end but begin
Flowing through town

      Between rocks and gravel
              Under cars
                   Over houses
                       Wherever I wish

                              Because you see
                   This rain drop you'll miss
        Because she broke free

 And applied to college.
