Only Whispers Can TellA Poem by Marilyn My BitternessThe title came from the song "Brielle" by Sky Sailing. I don't own the song, please don't sue me. I have no money. Thanks.
I haven't traveled these roads since I saw you last
Each bend like a moment in our past Each up and down Each rise and fall Each success And each failure Each grander than them all I see the sign that points me to you It's bold type face screaming for me to pass on through But I drive by and ignore the sound Even though it emanated through the car speakers and down Through my bones and shook me to the core And told me to turn this car and drive down to the shore Where we promised we'd be today in each others arms But instead I am here and you are so far gone I wish I could be bitter At least that's an emotion I can hold on to But instead I am wistful Barely making it through I never got to tell you that "Brielle" came from a song One that means so much more now that you're gone So I'll drive on by the sign that points me to you The warm night air caressing my face as I sing out And maybe this song will float through the night to you © 2010 Marilyn My Bitterness |
