Call of RetributionA Poem by Marilyn My BitternessI never wanted to hate you Never wanted to hate the blue day Or the sun shining on my face But everytime heat rises inside me I hide my face in disgrace
Such beautiful things caress my skin And all of it just makes me cringe
But this is retribution for my sins For all the things to you I did
None of which I ever said a word For it would have left you a dream deferred
Crusting over and oozing through the seams Feeling like a failure from your lost dreams
No apologies will work now Make everything the way they should I'm sure things would have better If I had stayed forever faithful As we both promised we would
