Moonshine

Moonshine

A Poem by MarigoldManny
"

Something I just wrote, feelings on a page.

"
My hands wither away as I hold onto...what?
What do I cling to, in this wisp of a world
The lightest touch crumbles it and I wail
Why does it not want my affection? Why did I do?
I reach out again, hesitatingly and lurch forward
I lightly caress it, warmth under my hand.
It freezes and then runs. I chase, feeling alive!
Take me! Take me to a better world!
I speed up as it does, getting closer.
It stops and instead of cowering, tangles deep in my hand.
I part my lips and sigh as deep as Van Gogh's clouds
feeling light as a child on a warm summers night, I hold myself
What was different? What did I do?
