Evening Fun!

Evening Fun!

A Poem by Marie
"

Written for my 3yr old grandchild, who hated to come in after playing outside.

"

After a long day of playing with all of your friends,

The moon slowly rises as the daylight ends.

The sun is now gone, and it’s time to go in,

But don’t you fret yet, the funs about to begin.

We have puzzles and books and playthings galore,

In fact that old toy box can’t hold anymore.

Let’s start with your blocks and build a castle so high,

It blocks out the moon light when it reaches the sky.

Then we’ll read an old book we’ve read many times,

Or make up funny stories that have lots of rhymes.

At supper, let’s have a burger and fries,

You’ll eat and you’ll drink till your filled up to your eyes.

Now mom says it’s bath time, but don’t you be sad,

Bring a couple of playthings, there’s more fun to be had.

In a tub full of bubbles, with a small ball and boat,

You’ll have lots of fun, with these things that all float.

You’ll splash and you’ll play, till your fingers are wrinkled,

Your skin has turn pink, and your toes are all crinkled.

Then you’ll dry off quite quickly, as you run through the house,

As fast as an old barn cat, that’s chasing a mouse.

Once you are captured, and tucked safe into bed,

Happy thoughts will starting popping into your head,

Of all of the wonderful things you can do,

When the sun rises tomorrow all shiny and new.
