Pro-Life?

Pro-Life?

A Poem by Maria M.
"

I realize that this is "extreme" but I feel that some people's views are so extreme that they are unable to take a step back and listen to what is coming from their own mouths.

"

Let's paint a picture

you and I.

A picture of the life

you chose

to leave behind.

Turn around;

face him.

Hold his little body

In your bloody hands.

Sooth his aching cries,

stay his shaking limbs,

Give him the life inside you,

let him breath you in.

He is yours,

You know he is

A child;

An infant,

A new life

Or perhaps a new end?

He longs to feel

your heartbeat,

he begs to hear

your voice.

Don't you burn inside you

To reunite with his?

Don’t you long to

watch him grow,

and ache to hold

his hands.

You are a woman,

are you not?

A born mother,

a child of Adam?

What right do you have

to make the choice

you have made;

to destroy the beautiful

life in your womb?

None, none at all.

The painting should be done

according to some.

Your arms should be filled

with your rapist's son.
