Rain

Rain

A Poem by Maria M.

Hold a
dream.

Like rain,
it brings
life
to a barren
world.

But
like rain,
it is fleeting,
unpredictable,
never
stable.

Yet hold,
a hand to
invisible
stars
above.

“Op’ thine eyes,”
wait
for the
tears
of the sun,
to meet
the earth.

Hold a
dream
like rain.

Open eyes,
and open hands,
cascade
over falls.
Centuries
smooth away
the jagged
pieces
and
the breathless
heart
is set free.

Like a
flower petal
cradling
the mother’s
transcendent
love.

Forever
growing,
into
radiant
reality.
