I agree with Dave's comments. As you cut down all of those trees, and their falling down; it could be representing the collapse of a dream. A dream of their fruit, being exported and sold for financial reward. Indeed, it could have eventually provided enough income, for others to be employed; and perhaps allow a business partnership or even limited company to be formed.? And yet, sadly; it wasn't to be. I don't know what prevented this dream, from becoming a reality. Perhaps, some rules and regulations? Or, just the sheer competition for those particular types of fruit? On the other hand, perhaps the logistics of transporting these commodities; would not have been practical or affordable?
