Just Wandering, CigaretteA Poem by Black Branches
I left the house in no mood for anything,
I left my cigarette at home, I wanted to smoke. I wandered down the road to the church, For no reason, I just love the scent of candles. There was a match on the wooden table; I took it And went outside" A woman shouted at me, "Thief." I continued down the road toward the hippodrome, November was approaching, I was wearing a long black coat. I noticed two handsome men Approaching, smoking cigarettes, I stopped them and greeted them, then asked for a cigarette. One offered me a white Marlboro, I pulled out one stick" "Would you like another?" one of the men asked me. "No, thank you." "Do you have a match?" "Yes, I brought it from the church." Both of them laughed heartily, and so did I. © 2024 Black BranchesFeatured Review
