A Poem by Black Branches

Sometimes I feel like I accumulated many sins in a past life.
After reincarnation, they all weigh down on my body together.
Or perhaps my father committed all the sins for me.
I woke up from a heavy dream again.
The book my father was reading at the end of his life, One Thousand and One Nights, I haven't read it"I avoid it, saving it for middle age,
A code is hidden within.
Have all the gods made time for me? Even Morpheus doesn't spare me; he drowns me in sand, burns me in fire in every dream.
Oh, what have I done to deserve this hatred,
Oh, my lost self!

A somewhat melancholy write, but I believe it's probably heartfelt and genuine to the writer's true thoughts and feelings. Indeed, I have acquired the impression; she's that kind of writer. It's perhaps telling, that she even remembers the final book; which her father read; "at the end of his life". Overall, I cannot detect clues as to any specific burdens; which might be behind the sombre tone of this piece. Sometimes, I do. The final line spoke, as if a sigh of sheer exasperation - "oh, my lost self!". Thankyou for sharing, and just being you.
