Sky City

Sky City

A Poem by Mari-Sweet

That city in the sky,

Not like any other city I’ve ever been to.

The clouds are islands.

The skies between the clouds are bodies of water.

Rainbows are slides filled with colors.

Flying is as common as walking on earth.

Well come on, my beloved angel!

Adventure awaits us upstairs!

I know exactly how to get there.

The path to Sky City is located

In that forest with the whirlpool.

Hold on tight! Here we go!

Wow! Isn’t this the most beautiful city

You’ve ever been to in your entire life?

See how the clouds take shape of homes and trees!

We can slide down rainbows!

And best of all, we can fly! Come on!

See, I told you this was the best city in the world!

For class, we had to write about a town we liked but knew little about. We either had to take a friend or a lover.

Well done. I guess we have all looked up at the clouds and let our imagination take over. I think we miss out a lot now with the inexorable march of the mobile phone. What is this world if full of care we have no time to stand and stare! (Not my quote).
Good work,
Alan
