The Stature of a godly Man

The Stature of a godly Man

A Poem by Margie F

C 2002

The stature of a godly man
Isn’t measured by weight or height,
But by the love he has for God
And his commitment to walk upright.

The stature of a godly man
Can’t be seen by human eyes,
For only God will know this man
By viewing him from inside.

The stature of a godly man
Will determine his call to take,
For a godly man will walk the path
That is narrow and is straight.

The stature of a godly man
Is humble and meek at heart,
Yet holding firm to the word of God
Will boldly do his part.

The stature of a godly man
Is not prideful and does not boast,
But gives his all unto the Lord
And it is God that he loves most.

David was a godly man,
Though overlooked by human eyes,
God chose him to become a king
Not measuring him by his size.
