Love, Be Free

Love, Be Free

A Poem by Margie F

C 2003

With every tear
Weakness escapes me
As if it’s dying
To be free

With every drop
My heart increases
As if it’s trying
To save me

With every taste
Ever so salty
The bittersweet
Memories fade

With every breath
Growing more shallow
The best of love
Is what I gave

Oh but stronger
Is the promise
That love endures
Everything

Love is forever, though
You may not touch it
It will give you
Such company

So, let it leave
In hopes tomorrow
It will return
And forever cling

Cling to promise that
Love never faileth
And your two hearts
Will forever sing
