Bird

Bird

A Poem by Margaret Marie Hubbard

Freedom little bird

can you taste the open sky

Sing on little nightingale

No ending of tonight

Past wreckage little sparrow

grounded with no fight

Falling softly little feather

Apparition of my life

A pleasing sequence of images.. each bird reflecting an aspect of the poet's experience... with a sad ending... Maybe we need a phoenix too

Photo made the words have life. All of us need to taste freedom. I did many times in my life. No place to go. Time to do anything i desire. The sparrow freedom is necessary to live and grow. I like the ending to this outstanding poem.
