Nightmares

Nightmares

A Poem by Margaret Marie Hubbard

Silence your trembling minds,

for your thoughts give birth to your fears.

Throughout the wrinkles in time,

they feed from your mourning and tears.

Behind the sunset they wait,

as the moonbeams smother the earth.

You wield your own ending fate,

Wander aimlessly on their dark turf.

False sleep never hides you from them,

covered heads are a beacon of light.

Only dreaming is your true friend,

the safest haven during the night!

Indeed..when all the fears in our lives become to much, dreaming is the way of escaping..

I liked this one a lot. I like the way you rhymed everything and I do like the point you make at the end, that dreaming is "the safest haven during the night." Very provoking. Good job.
