My Rock

My Rock

A Poem by Margaret Marie Hubbard

Sometimes, people forget that love is not a face

or a hand that you hold onto for dear life.

It isn't an affection or something that can stay beautiful forever. Love is knowing, when you turn around to see if it is there,

it hasn't moved an inch, no matter how far away

or close you stand upon it.

I choose to lay my head upon my rock

and share the beauty of the sky.

-Margaret
