Love's Grave

Love's Grave

A Poem by Margaret Marie Hubbard

Eternal flames are easily
extinguished by careless hearts
One daring to walk the miles
But others peeking at the start
How merrily they waltz away
While the soul lingering cruelly wilts
How drawn to lies are those
Who know not of that sultry filth
From the ashes only one
Shall rise above the breaking waves
Harnessing a new horizon
And godly gifts from love's grave.
