Your Crucifix

Your Crucifix

A Poem by Margaret Marie Hubbard
"

Midnight writing of words that just flow through my pen to paper.

"
Upon my wrist the chains entwine
the thoughts of you scrape through my mind.
I trusted that no harm would fall
upon my broken wounded all.
The fire came forth like a hungered dream
but I would not fight nor would I scream.
I sat in silence as you watched your crucifix unfold.
I only fought for what love I had been told.
So, strip the layers of false happiness in front of them.
But you will see you can never win.
For if I die or live to fight,
you can't hide through this what was truly right.
