the stars.A Poem by Margaretthey were my friends, the stars.of the cosmos that bound us together,
each one of us. the evil cosmos, that twisted the sky, warping each of its own elements, throwing them in the eternal ether of life. my friends, the stars, had been snatched away from me. they had stopped twinkling, in the skies, in my eyes. I was a dying star, with the sadness as vibrant as my doom. my tears were angry supernovae, spilling away my melancholy like a rain of fire. the world burnt, and I shuddered at its sight. clouds of ashy smoke, from beneath them emerged faces. they were my friends, the stars. I had ruined their sparkle, and deafened them with my screams. they illuminated, burnt and tarnished, from under my potent magma, before they disappeared into the deathless empyrean. I thought I saw them smirk, or was it a reticent smile? I had to think about it for a while. and the clouds of ashy smoke, were kind enough to me. because they formed me a staircase, that ascended somewhere. nowhere. every step was smoldering, but the fire was placating to my inner turmoil. and I was finally able to shed tears -fire- for a reason. climbing up was a treacherous task, because I knew I was leaving them behind, my friends, the stars. the clouds -still ashy- were now a ship, sailing through the memories of my existence. lapping up against the shores of the times where I had shined the brightest, cruising to where my light had dulled out. up above, was a streak of colors that chased something. maybe it looked for the same thing that I sought? and on its way, that streak, my new friend, dropped its hues on me. bathing me in an inlay of colors I never knew existed. the clouds had stopped, and they were a tread board again, this time they descended down. to a place I knew. it was where the flowers of happiness bloomed. and behind me, faraway in another infinity, were my friends, the stars. baring their hollow mouths on me. I had seen them being engulfed into the fire of nothingness. the fire that had washed them clear. transparent. I realized they were not stars, but black holes. who obeyed nothing, not even time. and when I saw them drift in the remotely dim parts of the universe, I stepped down with a smile, my eyes calmed and devoid of lava. above me, the planet of fate was shining its brightest. © 2022 MargaretAuthor's Note
