Don't Judge Me

Don't Judge Me

A Poem by MareBear

Don't judge me,
You don't know me,
You will never know me,
And unless you lived my life,
And went through the things I went through,
You have no room to judge me.

Don't judge me by my past,
Don't judge me by my looks,
Don't judge me by my friends,
Don't judge me by the color of my hair,
Don't judge me by the way I smile,
Don't judge me by the way I cry.

You don't know anything about me,
You don't have any reason to judge me,
You don't know why you judge me,
You don't have a reason,
You just Judge,
You just assume that you know everything.

I am not something,
That can have a label.
I am not something,
That can be judged.
I am not something,
That can feel no pain.

I cry just like you,
I laugh just like you,
I sleep just like you,
I eat just like you,
I play just like you,
I pray just like you.

I may have been through some things,
Things that have made me, me.
But that does not give you a reason,
To judge who I was meant to be.
I am a person just like you,
Can't you see.
