The Rest Is GoneA Poem by Solomon JPoem from the poem book.
The time has come again for the light to fade, my child
The Goddess descends into the world of darkness Close the door to the bitter cold The gates of Hel will loose once more Saying, “The rest is gone” And maybe, you wonder, maybe he will be there Singing his mournful song, alone in the distance But you know the truth, what became of them What the night foretold, we sing tonight “The rest is gone” I always wondered if the lone wolf hears the howling Over the freezing chill and blowing winds on the mountain But you will never dream, these ceaseless questions He cries, and you hear the words, “The rest is gone” In the farthest reaches of your darkened mind he stands there Brighter than the midday sun, stronger than all the oceans But you know the truth, what became of him You cry and echo his words “The rest is gone” © 2016 Solomon J |
