TEETH

TEETH

A Poem by Marc James
"

Quick Poem.

"

MY TEETH ARE YELLOW

LIKE SUNFLOWER PETALS

DRAPING SHADOWS

ON SQUINTING EYES

MY TEETH ARE CROOKED

SPREAD ALL ASKEW

LIKE A DAMP DECK OF CARDS

PICK ONE... DON'T TELL ME...

MY BREATH IS ROTTEN

A CIGARETTE GRAVEYARD

ACIDIC WHISPERS HAUNT

LINGER FROM THE NIGHT BEFORE

MY GUMS ARE WEAK

LIKE STILL WET CONCRETE

OR ANCIENT CRUMBLING CASTLE WALLS

OR MOULDY BREAD

MY TEETH ARE MY TEETH

AND I AM HAPPY
