Poison

Poison

A Poem by Dean Marais

Her lips will taste like the sweetest wine
But its the wine that never satisfies
A wine that never gets you drunk
Her skin will be softer and fairer than silk
And yet it will scar you if you let it
her touch will cut you to your soul
Her eyes - Exquisite- will poison you
And yet she never mean't for any of this
All she wanted was to love
And just like a monarch butterfly
Beauty - without love- is poisonous
