DEATHA Poem by MIDNIGHT ROSEDEATH BECKONS ME, SHALL I LET HER IN? SHE COMES FROM THE DEAD OF THE NIGHT, HER RED EYES GLEAMING SO BRIGHT... I STARE AT HER SHE STARES BACK; SHE GETS CLOSE TO ME & WHISPERS IN MY EAR:" COME TO ME & I WILL SET YOU FREE"..... I STAND THERE MESMERIZED BY HER SOOTHING VOICE, THINKING I HAVE NO CHOICE... SHE TAKES MY HAND, SHE KISSES ME, HER KISS IS SO COLD.... I SEE HER IN THE SUDDEN BRIGHT MOONLIGHT. SHE IS SO WHITE, IT'S REALLY A FRIGHTENING SIGHT... SHE SMILES, HER SMILE IS SO CRUEL, WE STAND FACING EACH OTHER AS IF WE MIGHT FIGHT IN A DUEL... I CLOSE MY EYES & LET HER GUIDE ME... SHE GRABS MY HAND, TIGHTER & TIGHTER; SHE LEADS ME DEEPER INTO THE UNKNOWN, I BEGIN TO CRY; TEARS OF ANGUISH, TEARS OF SORROW, TEARS OF PAIN... IT'S TOO LATE, I CAN'T ESCAPE, I PULL AWAY; HER GRIP IS LIKE A VISE... NOW I KNOW THERE'S NOTHING TO DO... I STAND AT THE BEGINNING OF MY OWN & INEVITABLE DEMISE.
