Chapter 4~

Chapter 4~

A Chapter by Mara-J

The wind blew me hard. I was almost positive I was going to die, at first. Happily, it never happened though. I had no idea where I was going, until I hit the ground with a thud. I let out a yelp as my head hit a rock. I was lying on the ground for a good five minutes and touched my hand to my head. Blood. Real blood from my head. Damn it! What the hell did I hit anyway? I thought. That didn't feel like any normal rock. What was it?
I quickly got up and back onto my feet. I felt dizzy from the small bit of blood emptying out of my head, but I fixed that with a bandanna I had brought with me. I tried to get a good look at the "rock" that I had hit, and sure enough it was not a rock at all. It was purple and had a sharp point that was facing upward. It looked like a long shard of crystal. Could this possibly be another elemental crystal? I cautiously picked it up and into my hand. It started to glow and the wind picked up to a gentle breeze. Suddenly, I heard a voice.

"Help! Susie! Where are you?" the small voice cried out. It sounded just like my little brother, Jason! "Jason? Is that you? Where are you, buddy?" I cried back. No answer. I began to worry about him. Was he in danger? Where the hell am I anyway? I looked around and saw that I was in a field far off somewhere. Mountains surrounded me, but I saw a city in between two of them. Happily I knew I wasn't far from civilization. Looking back down at the crystal, I wondered what it really was. Maybe it's another elemental crystal; like the ice one I found in the burning building back where home was.
"Susie!" Jason shrieked again. I jumped and stuffed the crystal into my backpack and ran off. I ran into some woodland that was at the foot of the mountains. I heard another shriek and ran towards it. The sound of footsteps where heard off to where I heard the horrifying scream. I saw a puddle of blood coming from the other side of a large tree. I walked to the other side and gasped. There was Jason. Dead with a knife through his heart. I screamed so loud, it could be heard around the world.

How could this happen? Who could have done this? He was only 7 years old! I frantically thought in my mind. Just then, my backpack was glowing. I took it off quickly and opened it. The purple shard was luminous. I looked behind me and saw a beautiful woman dressed in a long, purple dress with gold jewelry. She had purple hair and dark skin. "I am the Phantom of Healing. Susie, that shard you have found is used to heal people. Use it to save anyones life. It will become very useful, not only now, but in the future. Good luck. You have my blessings." and she was gone.

I looked down at the crystal, and slowly retrieved the knife from out of Jason's chest. Then, I held the shard to where his wound was. He suddenly opened his eyes and coughed frantically. "Susie?" he asked as he looked me in the eyes. "what happened? Where are we?" I cried tears of joy. "It doesn't matter, Jason. I'm just glad you're okay." I hugged him tight, and he kissed me on the cheek. All of a sudden, I heard water coming from behind me. I slowly turned my body around to see what was happening. "Oh my God!" was all I managed to say. A huge tidal wave was headed right toward us.
