Chapter 2~

The strange girl was just staring at me with a hollow expression. I wasn't sure who she was...or what she was for that matter. I stepped a little closer, "Who are you? Why are you here?" I asked her. The girl walked up to me, "Susie Carson. You have been assigned a special role for us. The world is falling into serious danger as we speak. Your job, is to save us all." I became so shocked at what she said, that I nearly fell backwards. "What? What are you talking about? I'm not supposed to save the world! Let someone else do that!" I said. The girl shook her head, "No, Susie. You are to save us. You have a special power that no other human being has. You need to do this, or else the world will end for good." said the phantom-like girl. "But how? How do I do it? When will I have to go?" I asked as I twist strands of my silver hair around my fingers. The girl stepped back slowly, "You will have to find out for yourself how to do it, Susie. It begins now." 

She faded away. The light disappeared and a strong wind blew all through the house. I stood there, astonished at what I had just seen and heard. I ran all the way back upstairs and burst through my parents door. "Mom! Dad!" I screamed. I looked around the room. There was no sign of them anywhere. They were gone. "Mom? Dad? Where are you?" I asked in the darkness. Still, no one answered. I flew out of my parents room and into Meghan's room. "Meghan? Are you awake? Mom and Dad are gone! We have to-" She wasn't there either. Both my parents and Meghan were gone. I think that also means that Jason and my grandfather are gone too. Just in case, I went in both of their rooms to look. Just as I thought, they weren't there either.

Maybe that girl was right. I thought to myself. Maybe I really am supposed to save the world. But how? What am I supposed to do? My family is gone, I'm alone, and I supposedly have a 'special power' just as she said. This was rather confusing, but if I was called to save all mankind from certain dangers, then let's get to it. 

I got up and sprinted into my room to get changed. I threw on some camouflage cargo pants, a black t-shirt, and hiking boots. I opened my drawer to grab my pocket knife just in case I needed it. As soon as I opened it, I found a sword. It was glowing orange, like flames, and had a symbol on it. I didn't know what it was, but I didn't think much of it. I took the sword carefully and stared at it. Then, I put it in a backpack I was planning on bringing. It would be the safest place for it anyway. 

I ran down the stairs and opened the front door to step outside. I stood on the driveway and gasped as I looked around. The world seemed so different. Everything was dark and in flames. Dead bodies were scattered around the area. I began to cry, in fear of what was happening. Just then, I looked up into the sky and saw the mysterious girl's face. "Go now, Susie. Your adventure is just beginning" she said as she faded away into the clouds. Well, here we go...
