The Call of the Dragons

The Call of the Dragons

A Poem by Amanda Naomi

Above the northern winds

Below the tattered skies

Come, on scaled and feathered wings

Dragons, we here to fly

Earthen, fire, ice and stone

Flock and fly together

Graze on sheep and maiden fair

Horde our gain for measure

Imbue our bones with mithril strength

Justice returned for unrighteous hate

Kin advance, honored fight

Lest be we defeated

Make our presence heard and known

‘Nounce the High King seated

Ours shall not turn and flee

Perish now the mortal man

Quake in terror at our wrath

Revenge for murdered lamb

Surrender unto our fiery breath

Take heed our message to your death

Until the fortunes change

Vengeance wins our favor

Wars will rage and crops will burn

‘Xiling you to neighbors

Younglings shall tell tales in days to come

Zealotry and bravery, the day we won!

This is like Youtube where I can't find the "Epic" button to press!! lol I love seeing something new; something that stands all alone in its own creation. Great story and great form. Because you seem to like dragons, maybe you want to check out my "Dragon Blood" poem on my page? This was a fun one to read. Don't erase it!! It's probably the only one like it on this site. You might need more "tags" to help us find it easier, though. xoxo -Mark

yes! another attempt at the alphabet poem...i'll send mine to you and see what you think. Loved the troublesome x line, and the whole piece fits and flows well together. You keep the tone consistent which I thought was the hardest thing to do. I think your works well more so than mine because you were able to use other words. Brilliant.
