Passion

Passion

A Poem by Amanda Naomi

 Passion is a fabulous prison
Entrapped by the emotions evoked
Not to keep me in
For I am more than willing to stay
But to keep you out
You watch behind the irons bars
Wanting desperately to come in
The more you want, the closer you come
Until at last the door locks behind you
And passion will never let you go.

Hmm... It seems as though you started out going for a completely different feel then what you ended with, but isn't that the joy of poetry? To just start writing and let things progress as they will? This poem was dark in a very subtle way. Like your goal was more along the lines of lovely and meaningful (though I could be wrong) and your emotions got in the way and filled the peice on their own. Very good job.

Very sweet and cynical! I'm not sure if you were going for this affect. I liked this a lot. The last lines are quite interesting. Keep writing.
