Copper Kettles and Conversations

Copper Kettles and Conversations

A Poem by Amanda Naomi

The hum of a lullaby
Sung sweetly: angel’s voice
Over stove tops brewing
Their penny flavored choice

Whistling of the angel’s brew
Turns the prett’ly sung tune
From mornings carefree song
The chatter’s afternoon

Steam blooms from open mouths
And laughter issues forth
The warmth and comfort of
The chill of winters’ north

certainly put my mind in the midst of a country cabin where the warmth emanating from the kettle was one of the most welcomed and thankful blessings in life. such a comforting and nostalgic piece, well done in so few words.

I really enjoyed this piece...
The imagery is soothing and warm like the afternoon it is describing. I can almost see fireplaces and smell woodsmoke and taste tea (or coffee, which would be my preference). Either way a definate "comfort" piece. Nicely written. Thanks for the great read.
