Light or Dark?

a poem about the pros and cons of light and dark, it also has a double meaning and is written about a book i recently read

“You must pick one” he said to me

And it is cruel to make me choose

For I am in love with both light and dark

And should I take one, the other I would loose

 

It’s in the light where I feel safe and loved

And my needs are more than made

A befriended love burns brighter now

What started out as softest flame

 

But it’s in the dark where fires and passions burn

And my deepest desires met

Yet is it dangerous to love

When feelings flare and then fall dead?

 

So it is light that I will turn to

At least at first for this my plan:

I will live with light until it dies

Then darkness shall take my hand
