Skin on skin

Skin on skin

A Poem by Michelle Tarnowski
"

Joined in a poignant dance....

"

Skin on skin,

gliding, searing, soft.

Stirring emotions, imaginations.

Supplication to the only one

who can fill this need.

Joined in a poignant dance

of skin on skin.

Impassioned grasp, soft embrace.

Lingering warmth in the aftermath

leaving me broken, at the mercy

of your consummate hands

This piece is written at a distance rather than up close, cerebral until "your consumate hands" of the last line. I found myself wanting more detail, but at the same time I realize that the distance is perhaps speaking loudly, and allows me to feel the sudden shift at the end, paralleling the "aftermath".

I see the most contrast between the general - "the human touch" and the final line, which becomes "your consumate hands". Wide to narrow. And suddenly I am curious, wanting to know more about what happened....

Intimate and getting across its point without being s****y or erotica-esque. Good job.

Intimate and touching (pardon the pun). Well done.

About
I started writing when I took journalism and wrote for the college newspaper for a year. I loved it so much that the last quarter I took it without credit. My need to write comes and goes. When it is .. more..
