Leap

Leap

A Poem by Michelle Tarnowski
"

I think of what it took to come this far....

"

Here I go

Taking the first step into a new moment of life

I hold my breath….ready to leap into the unknown

Hoping this is not going to become a free fall

Landing me in a crumpled heap

My foot is poised….

Cautious thoughts flood my mind

With warnings flashing red and screaming in my ears

WAIT! WAIT! ARE YOU SURE YOU CAN DO THIS?

IT’S NOT TO LATE TO TURN BACK!

Yes that’s it, go back to where it’s safe

Frozen in place

I stare out at a world that could be mine

if I could just be brave

I think of what it took to come this far

The years of work and the sacrifices made

I push back the fear

and remember the words

of confidence and encouragement

From everyone around me

They have no doubts or fears

They see past my insecurities to my abilities

I hear their words, feel their love

And I leap

Shows the fears we all feel when taking that initial plunge into something new. The doubt and uncertainties about doing something that we are not used to. Great job!
