Everyone of us have shadows in our pasts. This was brilliant, Michelle. Very thought provoking...They very definitely have the ability to redirect our paths and hopefully in a good direction. Learning from our past is a good thing. Not quite sure if that was what you meant, but just pondering what I perceived from it. :-)

I alway admire the ability to say so much with so few words and consider it a gift. Many lessons exist in the shadows of our past. The last line is absolutely magnificent.

This is so true Michelle, no matter who we are, our past actions create shadows that follow or haunt us in the present. It is what we learn from those moments that allows us the strength to face them and turn our new knowledge to our advantage.

Each day is a learning experience and what we do with it is up to us.

I find this a quietly powerful poem.
